LONG BEACH, CALIF. — Fourth Street’s Retro Row, a vintage-focused shopping and dining district between Temple and Hermosa avenues, debuts a new, free community event series. The first took place in April.

Activating the business district on the Fourth Friday of every month, from about 6 to 9 p.m., attendees can expect to enjoy extended store hours, food and drink specials, discounted merchandise, pop up shops, art shows, live music and more along the thoroughfare.

The events are free and open to the public.

“Fourth Street’s Retro Row is all about nostalgia, but we are also working to forge a new era along our busy thoroughfare,” said Kerstin Kansteiner, owner of Portfolio Coffeehouse (2300 E. Fourth St.).

Each month’s Fourth Fridays event will have a theme. For example, May’s theme is “Americana.” April’s is “The Power of Women.” And October includes a Creature Crawl in honor of Halloween.

Other activities planned for Fourth Fridays event include:

Complimentary bike valet GENEROUSLY PROVIDED BY THE PORT OF LONG BEACH

Pop-up shops
